Distance travelled: 424 km
After a good night’s sleep, on a bed for the last time in a while, and the last warm shower for a while, we started with breakfast. After a while, we decided to hit the road, heading for Mildura. Saying goodbye, and getting directions from our hosts, we left.
On our way to Mildura, we stopped off in Swan Hill, and went to a place called Pioneer Settlement. It was a recreation of the old days, like Sovereign Hill. Its main attraction was a huge paddle-steamer called GEM. It also had horse and cart rides, watching how to make a horse shoes and many, many more things.
Then we moved on to Mildura. We arrived, just before sundown and set up camp. The cold was already coming, and most of us, except Ryan rugged up. We went out for dinner, with Peter and Marilyn’s old friends, Ian and Chris. We went to an Italian restaurant called Fasta Pasta. Food hadn’t been a problem so far, we all had eaten very well, and topped it off with an ice-cream from the ice-creamery!
The night was freezing, going down into the minuses. Nick struggled to get warm, but eventually, we all fell asleep.
