We left, finally! After hours of packing we hit the road, an hour after planned. We picked mum up from work, said goodbye to her workmates and set out on the start of our journey. First we went to Queen’s Park, where Burke and Wills made their first camp. We thought this was important because we are also going to stay at their northern-most camp, Camp 119.
We continued to drive, but first had to stop off at my Aunty Gay and Uncle Chris’s house. We were treated to a feast! We were also given supplies for our trip, biscuits, cakes and cherry ripe slice! We left, completely nourished and again back in the car, to head straight for Bendigo, were we stayed with friends Leigh and Jennie, and their son, Cailin. Again, we were treated to a feast!
Great to read about your adventure so far, Ryan. It is good to have an idea where you are. seems to have been a lot of feasting going on on the first day.
